Step 1: Open the geofence tool
In the platform, go to Geofences and choose New geofence.
Step 2: Draw the area
Search for an address, then choose a circle or draw a polygon around the site. Allow a small margin around the boundary.
Step 3: Name and categorise
Use a clear name, such as 'Depot – North Yard', and add a category, such as customer, depot or restricted.
Step 4: Create the alert rule
- Choose the trigger: entry, exit or both
- Choose devices or groups
- Set active times, for example out of hours only
- Choose channels: email, SMS or app notification
- Add recipients
Step 5: Test
Drive or move a device across the boundary, or review the event log the next day, to confirm the alerts behave as expected.
